Focus.
I focus on business transactions as well as major litigation and arbitration cases, mainly in a transactional context. Where necessary or appropriate, I cooperate closely with major law firms or specialist boutique firms. Typically, I will be in charge of coordinating the work. I am not bound to any particular external partner. I can thus react and adapt flexibly to the specific needs of a given case or to conflict issues.
On an equal footing.
I engage in an open and intense dialogue with my clients. What does this mean in the first place? Well, I listen very carefully. I then ask a number of specific questions to obtain a comprehensive picture of the relevant facts, both legally and commercially.
It is my goal to have a thorough understanding of the client’s interests and true intentions. Together with the client, I then define the appropriate strategy and the various steps for its implementation. It is the client who has full control of decisions made at the end of the day, however I am not afraid of voicing clear recommendations. Rather than providing advice from an observer’s vantage point, I engage proactively and take on a creative role.
Personal involvement.
I commit my personal involvement when dealing with client matters. Clients thus have direct access to my wealth of experience gathered during more than 25 years of professional life. This approach minimizes frictions, fosters efficiency and contributes to avoiding unnecessary and inflated costs. It also lays the foundation for robust and sustained client relationships.
Fees.
Full transparency will be provided in relation to fees. Transparency is essential at all stages of the client relationship. Before setting to work I will clearly define the scope and the fees. Normally my fees are on an hourly basis, however other arrangements can be made on a case by case basis.
